<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an image forming apparatus which includes a 1st part for storing an optical system and a 2nd part for storing an image forming part and a sheet carrying part, and wherein a sheet ejection part opening ahead lies between the 1st part and the 2nd part positioned under the 1st part so that the sheet ejected to the sheet ejection part can be easily visualized without uselessly increasing the required installation dimension of the apparatus even in the case the front to back dimension of the ejected sheet is comparatively small. <P>SOLUTION: In addition to shift the 1st part 1a backward with reference to the 2nd part 1b, the center line in depth of the optical system 3 stored in the 1st part is shifted backward with reference to the center line C2 in the front to back direction of the image forming part 4 and the sheet carrying part 5 stored in the 2nd part. And also, the sheet is ejected to the sheet ejection part 15 while carrying the sheet by the sheet carrying part so that the front edge of the sheet may be along a prescribed line, irrespective of the size of the sheet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
