PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight driving force transmission device of high rigidity with the reduced number of components at low cost, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A geared shaft having a driving gear of a differential device provided thereon is supported by a differential case, and a bulkhead part expanding outwardly from an opening part with the geared shaft protruded therefrom is provided in the differential case. A clutch case is fixed to a peripheral end part of the bulkhead part to form a storage chamber, and a housing with the clutch storage chamber formed therein is rotational supported in the storage chamber. An outer clutch plate of a clutch unit is engaged with an inner peripheral surface of the clutch storage chamber movably in the axial direction by regulating the relative rotation, and an inner clutch plate is engaged with an engagement part of the geared shaft movably in the axial direction by regulating the rotation.
