PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger for portable telephones easily carried and useful even at the time of disasteror the like. SOLUTION: This charger arranges a solar panel in a body surface, electricity which is solar generated here is accumulated in a storage part in the inside. One end part of the main unit is provided with a cover, the other end part is provided with a light emitting diode as an illuminating light. A side surface of the main unit is provided with a lighting button for lighting the light emitting diode. A charging battery of the portable telephone is charged with the electricity, which is generated in the solar panel to be accumulated in the storage part in the inside, in a condition that a connector part is connected to the portable telephone by opening the cover of this charger. By pressing the lighting button, the solar generated electricity is utilized so that the light emitting diode can emit light as illumination at nighttime (or in a dark site).
