PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Al-Mg-Si alloy excellent in strength and ductility without decreasing a crystal grain size as in conventional methods. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy used comprises 0.1-0.9 mass% Si, 0.7-1.6 mass% Mg and the balance being aluminum and unavoidable impurities and has an average crystal grain size of >30μm. Preferably, the difference dr between the maximum and minimum values in a crystal grain size distribution and the average crystal grain size da satisfy the relation: dr>da/10.
