BIODEGRADABLE FILM OR FIBER PRODUCING PARAMYLUM SOLUTION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND BIODEGRADABLE FILM OR FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a biodegradable film or a fiber-producing paramylum solution which uses a powder of paramylum separated from a fine alga, where the paramylum is produced by euglena which can be cultivated by a nutrient solution, and grows up in as short as one month of cycle, but is not fully utilized as a resource; and a biodefradable film or fiber. SOLUTION: The method for producing the biodegradable film or the fiber-producing paramylum solution comprises suspending the powder of paramylum in a solvent at a rate of 0.05 g/ml-0.2 g/ml and hydrolyzing for 36-120 hrs to dissolve, wherein the paramylum is separated from the fine alga which synthesizes and accumulates a (1→3)-β-glucan within the cell. The method can use the power of paramylum separated from the fine alga as a still unusable resource, particularly euglena to produce efficiently the biodegradable film or fiber-producing paramylum solution, and can use the paramylum solution to produce efficiently the biodegradable film or fiber.
