PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated scintillator/collimator array (144) for a CT detector (20). SOLUTION: The integrated scintillator/collimator (144) is manufactured using a manufacturing process (120) or technique which an array (96) consisting of a scintillator material is located on a fabrication base (94), a collimator mold housing (102) including the collimator mold is positioned on a scintillator material block (96). Then, this block and the mold housing are aligned (104) enabling a collimator mixture to arrange (116) in the mold housing (102).
