PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float type level gage enabling to read easily a pointer from a low position even when the liquid level becomes extremely high. SOLUTION: A long float 2 having a specific gravity larger than a liquid 5 whose liquid level 5a is to be measured is provided vertically movably in a bottomed vertical tube 3, and a driving magnet 8 is installed on the middle of the float 2. A display part 4 for moving following movement of the driving magnet 8 by magnetic coupling in accordance with vertical movement of the driving magnet 8 together with the float 2, and indicating the height of the liquid level 5a of the liquid 5 by the movement, is provided outside the bottomed vertical tube 3, and an intake port of the fluid is provided on a lower part of the bottomed vertical tube 3.
