PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a compact drying stand for Japanese calligraphy paper requiring a small space which carries and dries many pieces of writing paper. SOLUTION: The drying stand for Japanese penmanship writing paper is comprised by erecting main posts 5 carved with insertion grooves 2a for horizontally inserting drying frames and provided with the insertion grooves 2a on a base box, and detachably forming the drying frame 4 provided with a size and shape allowing mounting of at least one piece of writing paper, and a width substantially matching depth of the insertion groove in a circumferential rim by providing stays 4a for carrying writing paper like grids across the main posts.
