<p>The present invention relates to a novel composition containing the active ingredient of ginsenoside Rh2 for the protection of brain cell, particularly a composition to prevent or cure the brain stroke. Ginsenoside Rh2 contained in the composition of the present invention can be prepared desirably from ginseng, more specifically it can be prepared in a high yield by extracting the red ginseng produced from white ginseng with water or an organic solvent and then bio-transforming the extract by the lactic acid bacteria or intestinal bacteria.</p>
