A substantial amount of liquid is guided during the night from the body of a sleeping person into the mattress creating an unhygienic climate in particular in the areas resting on the slats (2) of the bed frame (1). The new design of slats (2) is provided with a structured and absorbent upper surface (3) in order to facilitate a quicker drying. Each slat (2) can be fitted with two longitudinally positioned deep grooves and a multitude of shallow transversal grooves. The surface (3) can also be corrugated and coated with an absorptive material.
