PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas catalyst enhancing a catalyst efficiency by enhancing a gas diffuseness of an exhaust gas in a catalyst layer.

SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is an exhaust gas catalyst provided with a carrier and at least a plurality of layers formed on the carrier. At least one layer of a plurality of layers has a void in the layer and at least one layer of a plurality of layers contains a catalyst component.
