PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the operation after saving video-recording on a hard disk when a remaining capacity of a digital video disk decreases when video-recording. SOLUTION: When it is detected that the remaining capacity of a DVD decreases when video-recording a program to a DVD, standby video-recording to the hard disk is started and video-recording to the DVD is stopped. When it is detected that the DVD is taken out and replaced with another DVD, the video-recording to this DVD is automatically started. While continuing the standby video-recording to the hard disk, time-shift reproduction is carried out from the beginning of the standby video-recorded program.
