PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a viewer to know contents of emergency information without interrupting a program currently viewed, to easily read the contents of the emergency information by utilizing advantages of a multi-screen, and to freely set the definition of emergency information by a user. SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with an information detecting means for detecting whether or not specific information is included in any program lineup information of broadcast waves received by a plurality of receiving means, a program detecting means for detecting a program relating to the specific information on the basis that the information detecting means detects the specific information included in one of a plurality of the broadcast waves received by the plurality of receiving means, and a display mode switching means for switching a display mode so that the program detected by the program detecting means has a larger size than the other program.
