PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mail box capable of finely maintaining a state engaging a pivoting latch with a latch receiver even if big force is applied to a door body by forcedly opening the door body while sufficiently taking clearance between the pivoting latch and the latch receiver. SOLUTION: The mail box is equipped with the pivoting latch 14 mounted to a door body 4 for opening and closing a take-off port 1 and the latch receiver 15 detachable to an engaging groove 14a formed in the pivoting latch 14, and a sectional form of a latch engaging section 15b of the latch receiver 15 is formed in the shape of a rectangular plate longer in the longitudinal direction and shorter in the horizontal direction. By this constitution, the clearance between the pivoting latch 14 and the latch receiver 15 is large taken, and even if an engaging margin between the pivoting latch 14 and the latch receiver 15 is narrow, the pivoting latch 14 can be engaged with a corner section of the side separated from the latch receiver 15 or the neighboring section thereof, and a state engaging the pivoting latch with the latch receiver 15 can be finely maintained.
