PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas meter capable of securing a sealed property and improving compactness and lightness in weight. SOLUTION: In the gas meter, engaging parts provided for a first cover (11) and a second cover (12) are engaged with each other to constitute a casing. The engaging parts are constituted of sealing parts (11b and 12b) inside the casing and outer circumferential parts(11a and 12a) outside the casing and constituted in such a way that the sealing parts may come into contact and be engaged with each other via a first sealing member (16). The sealing parts and the outer circumferential parts are constituted in different shapes. In the case that the first cover is engaged with the second cover, the outer circumferential parts are formed in such a way that the outer circumferential parts in one cover may cover the sealing parts in the other cover. The gas meter is formed in such a way that contact surfaces in the sealing parts in the case that the first cover is engaged with the second cover may be present in one plane.
