PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable polyester excellent in mechanical properties, etc. SOLUTION: The polyester has a structural unit of formula (I) (wherein A is -(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>- (wherein n is an integer of 2-16); and B is a macrodiol residue). The polyester or a cured product obtained by curing the polyester by irradiation of light is excellent in mechanical properties, etc., especially properties as an elastomer.
