PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a casting valve in a molten metal flow passage for connecting a melting chamber for executing the vacuum melting and a mold chamber for executing the vacuum casting, which can separate both chambers in a vacuum manner, evacuate one of them, and open the other to the atmospheric pressure, to substantially prevent the leak generated in the valve when the evacuation is executed, and to provide the casting valve with high durability. SOLUTION: Seal tubes (11, 12) made of rubber for filling a gas inside are provided on both faces of a plate-like valve body (1) for blocking the molten metal flow passage (3) by advancing from a casing (2) and also for opening the molten metal flow passage by retreating. It is preferable to prevent the intrusion of dust to the casing by mounting a cross-sectional shape for allowing a rounder for flowing the molten metal to pass through and a protection ring (6) having a thickness close to the internal thickness of the casing to the tip of the valve body. Further, a means for blowing off an inactive gas is provided to the inside of the casing. If the blowing-in of the inactive gas is executed when the pressure of the mold chamber is restored, it is possible to completely prevent the dust from intruding. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
