Signals from sensors (x1-xi) of e.g. engine temp. and speed. and air intake flow and temp. and supplied to a calculator (3) of control data (y1-yi) for functional elements (f1-fi) of the engine (1). A fuel metering valve (5) is controlled by an amplifier (7) of the prod. (ky1) of one such control signal (y1) and a correction factor (k) calculated (6) from the reading of a sensor (s) of the alcohol content of the fuel.
