<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery from which a high power output can be taken out even under a low temperature environment. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery uses a layered rock salt lithium nickel oxide whose structure is LiNO<SB>2</SB>as a positive electrode active substance, and has a positive electrode using the positive electrode active substance as a compound material, where the density of the mixture is in the range from 1.5 to 2.6 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. In addition, the density of the mixture is in the range from 1.7 to 2.4 g/cm<SP>3</SP>preferably. This reduces the internal resistance of the battery, increases the output of the battery, and makes the dependence of an output value on temperature smaller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
