PATH MTU DISCOVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AD-HOC NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a path MTU discovery system and method in an ad-hoc network with which a path MTU between a transmitter node and a receiver node can be discovered out of an MTU table which is constituted by exchanging a hello message added with MTU information.

SOLUTION: The method includes: an MTU table updating step of updating the MTU table with addresses and MTU values of respective nodes contained in the hello message that is cyclically exchanged among peripheral nodes; a hello message transmitting step of cyclically transmitting the hello message to added with the addresses and the MTU values of the nodes stored in the MTU table; and a path MTU determining step of extracting the MTU values of nodes located on a transmission line from the MTU table when transmitting data, and determining path MTUs out of the extracted MTU values.
