<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the prevention of the deterioration of the image quality caused by scanning interval unevenness or the like in the sub-scanning direction caused by a fluctuation amount of a process speed in an exposure process or in a transfer process. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus detects the fluctuation amount of the process speed. It suppresses the sub-scanning interval unevenness by controlling the rotational speed of a rotary polygonal mirror corresponding to the detected fluctuation amount of the speed. Also, a reference clock for writing-in an image is changed corresponding to the fluctuation amount of the process speed. As a result, the image forming apparatus suppresses the changes of a magnification rate in the main scanning direction which is generated when the rotational speed of the rotary polygonal mirror is changed. Further, the strength of an exposure beam is changed corresponding to the fluctuation amount of the process speed. As a result, the image forming apparatus prevents the occurrence of the unevenness of an exposure amount on the scanning line which is generated when a clock for writing-in an image is changed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
