<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a light blocking effect and prevent the deficit due to cracks. <P>SOLUTION: A bare IC 12 as a semiconductor element is mounted on a substrate 14 as a flip-flop. A shading layer 32 is provided so as to cover a region from a back surface 18 of the bare IC 12 to a side surface 20 thereof. The shading layer 32 is further provided so as to cover a region to an end 28 of a joining layer 26 of a gap between the bare IC 12 and the substrate 14.
