<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost document image reader that securely prevents image data of a special document, prohibited from being read and copied by easily deciding whether the special document made of magnetized fiber with a stable signal is genuine and increasing the decision precision of the special document, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the document image reader. <P>SOLUTION: The document image reader comprises a contact glass 1 where a document O to be read is placed, a document image read means 2 of reading image data out by scanning the document O placed on the contact glass 1, a document pressing member 3 which presses the document O to be read on the contact glass 1 when the document image read means 2 reads the image data out of the document O, and a special document detecting magnetic sensor 4 which is arranged on the side of the document pressing member 3 and magnetically detects the special document O. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
