<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus which displays a stereoscopic image with high quality by eliminating the effect of a temperature characteristic of a display panel. <P>SOLUTION: In the stereoscopic image display apparatus for using a liquid crystal display panel to sequentially switchingly displaying a left eye image and a right eye image by each frame, the switching frequency of the left eye image and the right eye image is controlled in response to a temperature of the liquid crystal panel. For example, a timer is used to gradually increase the switching frequency of the left eye image and the right eye image until a prescribed time after application of power to the display apparatus. Or a temperature sensor is used to sense the temperature of the display panel and the switching frequency is controlled in response to the sensing temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
