摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Cu-Zn alloy which has a high Zn content, can be cold-worked, and has high strength and superior season cracking resistance. SOLUTION: A cold-worked Cu-Zn alloy containing at least 10% Zn is subjected to at least one treatment selected among shot peening, shot blasting, sand blasting, and steel ball shot blasting; thus, the tensile residual stress on the surface of the alloy is reduced or brought into the state of compressive residual stress. The Cu-Zn alloy has a composition expressed by the general formula: CuaZnbXc (wherein X is at least one element selected among Al, Si, Sn, and Mn; and, by mass%, a is the balance, 10<b≤38, and 0≤c<3, provided the balance may include unavoidable elements).
