PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-shielding agent which may be contained uniformly in a coating as a light-shielding paint for applying to an agricultural film, produces a light-shielding effect easily by uniform dispersion and application onto a film, and is fit for use over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The agent is a spraying light-shielding agent containing calcium carbonate with an average particle diameter of 1μm or less, silica with an average particle diameter of 50 nm or less, a water-soluble acrylic resin, a silane coupling agent, and water. The light-shielding agent is obtained specifically by adding 1 to 60 parts by weight of the calcium carbonate, 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of the silica, 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of the acrylic resin as solid matter, and 1.5 to 20 parts by weight of the coupling agent to 100 parts by weight of water.
