PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a coil which is capable of manufacturing a coil with a work simpler than in a conventional technique, and fixing each of coil pieces on the core at accurate position. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a coil has a first step of forming a comb-like lead plate 3 having a plurality of leads 34 erected in the same direction on a strip-like connection portion 30, a second step of bending the plurality of leads 34 of the lead plate 3 into a U shape so as to be arranged in a line and curving the connection portion 30 so that the leads 34 are arranged on the outside to shape the lead plate 3 into a ring, a third step of providing the lead plate 3 on the the core 1 so that the connection portion 30 of the lead plate 3 may be projected from a center hole 10 of the core 1 and the plurality of leads 34 may stride the external and internal surfaces of the core 1, and a fourth step of cutting the lead plate 3 at a base end position or a near position of each of the leads 34 to separate the plurality of leads 34 from each other.
