PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially expand a response range (communication range) of a ground piece. SOLUTION: This transponder device comprises the ground piece disposed along a track on which a train travels and an on-car piece disposed on the train. When the on-car piece comes into a response range of the ground piece, the transponder device transmits predetermined information between the ground piece and the on-car piece.
