PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a center pillar having composite structure excellent in energy absorption characteristic without inhibiting weight reduction. SOLUTION: In the inside of an outer panel 3 which is made of resin containing fiber as a reinforcing material and has a hut-type sectional shape, an almost similar shaped reinforcement 5 made of metal is integrally disposed by inserting forming. The outer panel 3 is fastened to an inner panel 4 with rivets 6, and made to be the center pillar 2 having closed section structure. A plurality of embossed parts 8a, 8b are previously bent and formed on the vertical wall part 5a of the reinforcement 5 as an easily deformable part allowing developing extension of a vertical wall part 5a while allowing bending deformation of the reinforcement 5 in the bending load input.
