PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate bending press with which partial lack of bending is not generated on a metal plate after bending work and the lack of bending is not generated even in a work having different thicknesses. SOLUTION: This press is a press for performing bending work by holding the metal plate w between an upper die D2 and a lower die D1, a plurality of die bodies d1-d9 are successively provided in the longitudinal direction in the upper die D2 and each die body d1-d9 is provided with a height adjusting mechanism 10 by which the height is variably adjusted. This height adjusting mechanism is constituted of an elevating/lowering table 15 which is held freely ascendably and descendably to a fixed table 12, a taper member 16 which is taken out and put in between the fixed table 12 and the elevating/lowering table 15 and with which the height position of a die member 30 is adjusted and a sliding mechanism for driving the taper member 16 so as to be taken out and put in.
