PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shovel type excavator 11, capable of improving maneuverability and stability, by easily and quickly attaching-detaching/replacing various front attachments 17 adapted to the work content, and reducing the size and weight of the front attachments 17. SOLUTION: This shovel type excavator 11 is characterized in that various work attachments 17B are respectively and integrally installed on the tip side of an arm part 17A; the integrated respective front attachments 17 provided with a connecting part 21 are constituted on the base part side of the arm part 17A; a coupler 16 is integrally installed on the tip side of boom parts 14 and 15 arranged in traveling vehicles 12 and 13; and the desired respective front attachments 17 can be replaced, by attaching-detaching the connecting part 21 to the coupler 16.
