LIGHT SOURCE UNIT, LIGHTING SYSTEM, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit improved in illuminance of light emitted from an emitting surface by efficiently using the light of a light source.

SOLUTION: Projections 16 are formed on the emitting surface 13a of a bar light guide body 13. Each projection 16 is formed into a wedge-like shape in a vertical section composed of a pair of slope parts formed by being tilted with respect to a horizontal reference surface z of the emitting surface 13a, one of the slope parts is formed as a gentle slope part 16a, and the other is formed as a steep slope part (slope part) 16b formed at a tilt angle larger than that of the slope part 16a. Light propagating the inside of the guide body 13 is reflected toward the emitting surface 13a by the slope part 16b of the emitting surface 13a to be emitted toward an incident surface 12a of a light guide plate 12.
