摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a complementarity testing method improved in the sensitivity of detecting hybridization, and to provide a means for use in the method. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises testing the complementarity between a nucleic acid immobilized on the surface of a substrate and a target nucleic acid in such a condition that the nucleic acid immobilized on the surface of the substrate and the target nucleic acid are hybridizable with each other. Specifically, this method comprises the following practice: In the presence of gold particles with the surface immobilized with the nucleic acid( wherein, the nucleic acid has a sequence complementary to part of the sequence of the target nucleic acid ), the nucleic acid and the target nucleic acid are put to the hybridizable condition, or after putting both of them to the above condition, the resultant surface of the substrate is exposed to the gold particles. The gold particles with the surface immobilized with the DNA strand comprising double-stranded part and single-stranded part are such that the double-stranded part is immobilized on the surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
