<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which is small in size and high in luminance and is suitable for a small-sized projection display apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device is equipped with a packaging substrate 20, an LED chip 10 which is arranged on the packaging substrate 20 and a hermetically sealed container 30 which is filled with liquid.
