PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission device which makes it impossible to set false transmitter information by an operator at the time of image transmission. SOLUTION: Two or more operators's authentication information and transmitter's information are stored for each operator in an external storage 105 beforehand. A central processing unit 101 checks at least a pass word inputted by an operator who specifies image data to be transmitted and the authentication information stored in the external storage 105 and carries out authentication. When the operator is attested, the transmitter information corresponding to the operator is read out from the external storage 105, and the image data specified by the operator are transmitted by an electronic mail using the transmitter information.
