PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified decomposed rubber as a reclaimed rubber, which is highly soluble with resins used for various purposes, and to provide a preparation method for the same. SOLUTION: The modified decomposed rubber is a decomposed rubber having a molecular weight of 1,000-100,000 recovered from thermolysis of vulcanized rubber at 200-400°C. The modification comprises a reaction with a maleic acid anhydride derivative, a reaction with a compound containing active hydrogens and epoxidation modification by a reaction with a peroxide. The vulcanized rubber is preferably either one of natural rubber, various diene-based rubbers, or an ethylene propylene diene rubber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
