PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for displaying the characteristics of the structured surface of a heat exchanger pipe rapidly, uniquely with improved reproducibility. SOLUTION: In the method for displaying the structured inner surface and/or outer surface of the heat exchanger pipe welded to a longitudinal seam, each defined sample of a strip of structured material being anticipated for manufacturing the heat exchanger pipe is moved, and is subjected to radar Doppler spectrophotometry by using electromagnetic waves at a frequency range of 1-100 GHz.
