PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR control device for a diesel engine managing both of prevention white smoke and bad smell and prevention of NOx in a well-balanced manner by appropriately control EGR during idling of a diesel engine. SOLUTION: This device is the EGS control device x for the diesel engine 1 provided with an EGR means 4 recirculating part of exhaust gas to an intake system 2, and is provided with an idle detection means "a" detecting an idling state of the engine 1, an injection quantity accumulating means b detecting accumulation value of fuel injection quantity to the engine 1, and control means c - h which calculates accumulation value of fuel injection quantity after changing over to idling state by the injection quantity accumulation means b when the idling detection means "a" detects idling state during operation of the EGR means 4 and which suppresses operation of the EGR means 4 if the accumulation value reaches a predetermined value.
