A magnetic bearing isolator assembly. The assembly comprises first and second body parts, a ferromagnetic ring and a plurality of magnets received in spaced apart pockets. The first body part has a circumferential groove for receiving a ring of a ferromagnetic material. A radially outer groove in the first body part accommodates the second body part which has an outer, frusto-conical surface which is very slightly larger than the diameter fo the smaller axial surface on the first part. The first and second parts are made from a composite fluorocarbon - carbon-graphite material with substantial glass filling therein. |
