The invention relates to a device for protecting a multiphase distribution transformer isolated in a liquid dielectric. Said transformer comprises a cutting and disconnecting system provided with at least one fuse (2), at least one isolating switch (3), and a short-circuiting device (4). According to the invention, the short-circuiting device (4) and the fuse (2) together form a set, the isolating switch (3) being located outside said set, upstream or downstream of the same, and at least one of the phases is provided with both a fuse and an isolating switch.
