PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethanol measuring technique which can be applied to various substance containing ethanol, whose stability is excellent, which removes the influence of a coexistent substance in the measurement of a sample and by which the absolute value of the concentration of the ethanol can be found with good accuracy. SOLUTION: Regarding two kinds of lipid membrane electrodes whose responsivity is different with reference to chlorine ions and to ethanol, a potential response expression in which the concentration of chlorine ions and the concentration of ethanol are used as parameters is found in advance. The measured value of the potential of a sample is applied to the potential response expression, and the concentration of the ethanol is computed. When the salt of high-concentration chlorine ions is added to the sample, the influence of a coexistent substance is removed. A lipid membrane is constituted of a polymer support-type lipid membrane in which a responsive substance composed of an alkyl quaternary ammonium salt or of an alkyl quaternary phosphonium salt and a plasticizer composed of an aptonic solvent are contained. At this time, it is preferable that one plasticizer is an ether-based plasticizer and that the other plasticizer is an ester-based plasticizer. The concentration of the ethanol is measured by using a double channel-type ethanol sensor which is provided with two different membrane electrodes. |
