Pressure-sensitive adhesive materials (especially flameproof acrylic adhesive materials complying with DIN 40633) contain at least 15 wt% of a covalently-bonded phosphorus-containing monomer. Independent claims are also included for (1) a method (M1) for the production of these materials by radical or anionic polymerisation of a monomer mixture containing 50-85 wt% (meth)acrylic acid or ester of formula CH 2=C(R 1)COOR 2 and 15-50 wt% vinyl compounds and/or copolymerisable (meth)acrylate esters with at least one phosphorus atom (2) a method (M2) for the production of adhesive tape by reducing the solvent content of the above material to below 1%, coating the material onto a base material (by roller-coating, through a melt nozzle or by extrusion coating) and then crosslinking the material (3) adhesive tape made by this method, in which the adhesive material (and possibly also the base material) is flame-resistant according to the above standard R 1H or methyl; R 2H or 1-20C alkyl.
