Apparatus for applying directly a fluid or pasty product on a running web

A papermaking assembly dispenses a liquid or paste medium (M) directly onto the surface of a moving web as it feeds into the interface between a rotating drum and the web. The assembly consists of a full-width flexible blade (6) that is transverse to the direction of web travel (L) and extending deep into the inlet gusset zone (ZE). The blade is thin and of constant thickness terminating on both surfaces in an inclined trailing edge. The blade is detachable by clamp from the transverse support beam for replacement.
