The connecting element for the connecting of panel-form elements (30-32) preferably at right angles to one another has a first (3) and a second (7) locking element each with a retaining head and a shank with a threaded hole at right angles to its longitudinal axis. A threaded bolt (11) is provided to screw the two locking elements together, and a threaded nut (12) is screwed onto the bolt between the two locking elements. The locking elements are fitted in corresponding recesses in the panel-form elements and connected by the threaded bolts. An independent claim is included for a component consisting of panel-form elements with several of the aforesaid connecting elements fitted in preferably countersunk holes.
