PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an incubator capable of reducing the influence of dust generated from the arm part of an elevator on a well plate, when taking in or taking out a well plate from a stocker. SOLUTION: The incubator has an arm for the taking in and taking out a well plate from a stocker, a vertical moving means for the arm and a motor-driven horizontal moving means and is provided with a driving chamber formed inside the incubator chamber, a vertical moving means for the arm placed in the driving chamber, a motor, a securing hole formed on the wall of the driving chamber and securing the connection of the motor and the horizontal moving means, and a sealing plate to cover the curing hole and a securing hole of the horizontal moving means.
