Two-phase sunscreen composition comprises a water-in-oil (w/o) emulsion phase and a lipophilic or aqueous phase and includes a w/o emulsifier and a UV filter, where at least one of the phases is not transparent or translucent. An Independent claim is also included for production of a sunscreen composition as above by preparing the two phases in separate containers and then combining them.
