An RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) system, a method for controlling a response of an RFID tag, a computer-readable recording medium for storing a response control information-generating program, and a computer-readable recording medium for storing a response control program are provided to send a response from the RFID tag to a reader/writer effectively when the RFID tag exists within a communication-enabled range of the reader/writer. An RFID system comprises a reader/writer(10a) wirelessly communicating with an RFID tag(20), and a computer(30b) mutually communicating with the reader/writer. The computer includes a generating unit(303) for generating first response control information and a search-instructing unit for transmitting a search-instructing command to the reader/writer, together with the first response control information. The first response control information controls the necessity of a response to a search command of the RFID tag. The search-instructing command instructs the checking of the RFID tag, which exists within a communication-enabled range of the reader/writer. The reader/writer includes a receiving unit(104) for receiving the search-instructing command and the first response control information, and a search command-transmitting unit(105) for transmitting the search command together with the first response control information to the RFID tag.
