An electronic control governor (1) for adjusting the amount of fuel supplied to an engine so that the rotation speed of the engine agrees with a target rotational speed by driving the actuator (2) for operating the fuel amount adjusting means by an actuator drive current on which a dither current is superposed. The amplitude or frequency of the dither current is varied in accordance with a variation of the amount of supply of the actuator drive current, or the amplitude and frequency of the dither current are varied in accordance with a variation of the rotational speed of the engine. Alternatively, the ratio between the on time and off time in one cycle of the dither current is varied in accordance with the speed ratio between the acceleration and the deceleration of the actuator drive current. Preferably, the ratio of the on time to one cycle of the dither current is set to 20 to 40%.
