OPERATING LEVER OF MECHANICAL DRUM BRAKE, FOR PREVENTING SEPARATION OF PARKING CABLE BY IMPROVING COMBINING UNIT OF OPERATING LEVER JOINED WITH PARKING CABLE

PURPOSE: An operating lever of a mechanical drum brake is provided to prevent a fixing projection from being separated from a combining unit by forming threads on the combining unit of the operating lever and the fixing projection of a parking cable and thread-joining the fixing projection and the combining unit. CONSTITUTION: A mechanical drum brake is composed of a back plate combined to a vehicle body; a drum rotating together with a wheel oppositely to the back plate; a leading shoe and a tailing shoe attached with linings contacting with an inner peripheral surface of the drum to execute a brake action; an operating lever(700) having one end combined to the trailing shoe by a shaft and the other end fixed to the end of a parking cable(730) to operate the leading and trailing shoes; a combining unit(720) bent at the other end of the operating lever; and a fixing projection(740) disposed at the end of the parking cable. The combining unit of the operating lever is a hollow sleeve and female threads(721) are formed on an inner peripheral surface of the sleeve. The fixing projection of the parking cable is a rod shape and male threads are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the fixing projection.
