PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-cleaning member which can easily wash away only by putting the sediment or contamination of various natures adhering to the surface to rainfall or stream and to provide a coating composition used for its production. SOLUTION: The self-cleaning member comprises a member having a porous surface 1, wherein the contact angle hysteresisΔθ(=θa-θr) in the porous surface 1 which is the difference of an advancing contact angleθa and a retreating contact angleθr measured by a dynamic contact angle measurement by an extending contracting method is 80°or more and the retreating contact angleθr is 25°or less, thereby a water screen is formed by bringing about water, and ionizable or reactive pollutants are washed away without adhering.
